Salomon Snowboards has a whole lot of history with winter sports equipment to draw from. The parent company of this subsidiary has been one of the top leaders in ski manufacturing for decades and all that construction and design know-how has been able to translate a great deal to the snowboard catalogue.

Truth be told: these aren’t the best of the best. But they’re still a great deal better than a lot of the competition. And they’re affordable snowboards, too.

Salomon Drift Rocker Snowboard Review

This is an all-mountain snowboard that’s most at home in the backcountry. The traditional camber design is enhanced with a rocker to make the edges totally catch-free, so you can explore the nether regions of the slopes without risk of flopping out.

The Drift Rocker is made from super lightweight aspen wood at its core which makes it easy to zip in and out of the trees with. This is also a handy trait when you want to tear it up in the park. Salomon Grip Magnum Wide Snowboard Review

This is marketed as a board that’s perfect for both the powder and the park, but if you’re not a pretty big rider, running tricks on the pipe may be a bit difficult because of its size.

In the backcountry, the Grip Magnum Wide stick rivals the Burton Baron snowboard for floating across the deep powder. A History of Salomon Snowboards

The Salomon Group may have a long, rich history with winter sports manufacturing dating back to the 1940′s, but the Salomon Snowboards subsidiary is a fairly recent creation, opening its doors for business in 1995 and selling its first snowboard in 1997.
