DC snowboards don’t have Gnu or K2′s clout, but they can still tear up the mountain. Discover the best DC snowboards with reviews by OutdoorEquipment.com

Don’t dismiss DC’s line of snowboards just because it’s a company famous for making other things. Sure, DC is mostly known for skateboarding shoes, but that doesn’t mean they don’t show love to skateboarding’s winter counterpart. In fact, we think they’re unique knowledge may even give them a bit of an edge over the competition.

There really isn’t too much selection when it comes to DC snowboards–currently, there are less than a dozen models on sale–but the ones available are solid rides and warrant your attention.

If you’re a big-booted rider, have no fears: DC has you covered. Same thing goes if you are an all-mountain boarder, backcountry explorer, or park junkie. DC Snowboards has a board available for any kind of style you stake a claim to.

DC may not have the clout that Burton snowboards and Gnu snowboards have–and their boards may not be as elite as those brands–but their wares are nothing to turn your nose up at.

If you are in the market for a new board, no matter what your skill level may be, then check out the catalogue of DC models. There’s surely something there that will speak sweet nothings in your ear.

Best DC Snowboards: Reviews of the Bestsellers

DC knows how to make an awesome snowboarding boot–that much is absolutely undeniable. But they also make some killer rides.

While their all-mountain selection offers the widest variety in the catalogue, their performance is less than exceptional. They may not be anything to sneeze at, but for the amount of money you’ll have to spend on one, you might be better off looking elsewhere.

The selection of DC park snowboards, on the other hand, is stellar. Both the MLF and PBJ ride like sweet dreams in the park, on the pipe, and any jibbing surface you can find.

The reason they’re so sick in the park comes down to three factors:

  • Lightweight designs
  • Advanced camber construction
  • Brilliant bases

Below, we’ll take a look at three of the bestselling DC snowboards. Two of them are these superb park riders and the third is of the all-mountain variety. Take a look at the what these have to offer, and you’ll have a better idea of what you may be in store for if you decide to go with a DC model.

DC MLF Snowboard Review

This is a fantastically insane park snowboard that will have you performing tricks like a pro on the rails, in the pipe, and across all the jibbing surfaces you can get your board on.

The MLF in this model stands for Mountain Lab Favorite, making it the preferred board of DC’s talented team of designers. If that isn’t already a glowing recommendation, then we don’t know what one is.

What makes the DC MLF snowboard so good in the park?

  • Twin shape with moderate flex
  • Traditional camber
  • Carbon Quadrax Laminate

With these bonus features, you’ll be popping and locking on the park surfaces with absolute ease. This is a smooth board, that’s fun as hell to ride. And it’s a durable board, too. It can take a beating in the park with the best of ‘em.

DC PBJ Snowboard Review

Don’t let the name fool you. The PBJ may stand for Park Board for Jibbing, but it’s so much more than that. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that the only thing you can do on this board is jib and slide–it’s also fantastic in other areas of the park and ain’t too bad on the groomed stuff, either.

But if you’re jibber, you’ll definitely have a blast with this guy.

With a buttery flex and special reverse camber construction, you’ll lock in a press like nobody’s business and slip and slide down park surfaces without breaking the smallest sweat.

Some of the best features of the DC PBJ snowboard include:

  • Anti-Camber 6 profile
  • Biax fiberglass wrap
  • Lightweight wood composite Astro Core
  • Radius to Flat tip and tail

DC Tone Snowboard Review

Whereas the PBJ and MLF are more park-specific boards, the Tone is a true all-mountain snowboard that will take you smoothly across any kind of surface the mountain has to offer.

Whether you like to get out in the fresh powder or bust through the crud, the thin tips, tail rockers and light poplar core will have you cruising in paradise with absolute ease.

Even though it isn’t meant to be a true park terror, you can also get some pretty good air going in the pipes because of the lightweight design.

A quick important note: You may find the pop a tiny bit lacking and your spins hard to push to the limits, but you can definitely keep up with the majority of park junkies who spend all day jumping, jibbing, and grabbing.

Some of the DC Tone’s best features include:

  • True twin shape
  • Quadraxial glass design
  • Reverse camber

DC Snowboards: Summary

DC kills it with their park snowboards.

Compare the PBJ and the MLF to the offerings from Nitro snowboards, and you’ll see that they do better than rival the competition; they leave them in the dust.

DC  still makes decent all-mountain snowboards, but for the cost versus quality, you’re better with other brands.

DC is famous for shoes, and they always will be, but their snowboards shouldn’t be discounted. At the very least, they deserve some attention–especially from beginner and intermediate riders.

History of DC Snowboards

DC Shoes was founded in 1994 by Ken Block and Damon Way. The Vista, California-born company was created as a premier manufacturer of extreme sports footwear, and it still has that reputation today.

Even though the company produces skateboards and snowboards, they will always be famous for their skating and boarding shoes, as well as their line of jackets, jeans, hats, and shirts.

In 2004, DC Shoes was bought by Quiksilver, Inc. and moved along the shore to Huntington Beach. Even though they are now the child of a large parent corporation, DC is still finding new ways to create innovative products and expand their brand.
