A Brief History of Atomic Snowboards

The company Atomic–or rather Atomic Austria GmbH–was founded in 1955 by Alois Rohrmoser. In the beginning there were just four or five employees who hand-produced forty pairs of skis a year. As most people are aware, Atomic didn’t stay this small; it expanded at an exponential rate every decade until it was making upwards of 830,000 pairs of skis every year in the early 1990′s.

In 1992, Atomic started its line of snowboards that are created and tested by real-life boarders to make sure the products are worth owning.
